A petrolatum and graphite lubricant totally saturates the white asbestos yarn of this API square braid packing. These lubricants are combined with the packing’s softness for a universal packing that is particularly suited for equipment that is aged or suffering from worn bearing or scored shafts. Service commonly includes many types of valves in compressed air systems, refrigeration plant lines, fresh water piping, distillation units, feed heaters, exhaust steam, main air ejector drains, fuel oil lines and in centrifugal pumps handling cooling water, diesel and lubricating oil.
